This is a surprisingly nice sponge! I like the size; it¡¯s narrow enough to get inside things like glasses and long enough so you can use the sponge inside something without having to stick your hand in there too. The material is nice¡ªnot hard enough to scratch things like a lot of sponges these days. I have nonstick pots, so most of the sponges are way too rough for them and the regular cellulose ones just seem to have too many holes and wear out too quickly. This material is perfect for them as well as my stainless steel sink¡ªno scratching with this sponge. Plus it¡¯s pretty with the rainbow colors! It¡¯s not really for bad, really baked-on kind of messes FYI, just general cleaning because it¡¯s soft. I have not tried to tear off a layer yet, but it¡¯s a great idea! You can tear off a layer for a bad mess and just throw out that layer or just when the sponge gets too dirty. Overall, I¡¯m actually loving this sponge surprisingly! It came in plastic and was moist, which was a little weird but it dried out fine. I know it was supposed to come like that, but microbiology says drying out your sponge completely is what kills germs! It¡¯s the slightest bit pricey but considering you can tear off the layers, it¡¯s probably a better deal than buying a bunch of cheap sponges.
